Beginning HR Professional Series - Investments 101. 

Presented by Lucy Williams, the Vice President and Trust Officer at The Trust Company, where she has been a part of their management team since 2004. Williams began her career in banking in 1980 at the Union National Bank & Trust Company in Manhattan where she was the assistant to the President. She later became the Personnel Director where she was responsible for administering services for 90 employees and then a Personal Banking Officer assisting high-net worth bank customers with personalized banking services.

When Union National was purchased by Commerce Bank in 1992, Williams was promoted to Vice President and Trust Officer. She was responsible for personal trust administration, investment management, and financial planning for individuals, trusts and individual retirement accounts.

Since her move to The Trust Company, she continues with those responsibilities in addition to working with charitable organizations.

Williams is active in the Manhattan community. She is a member of the Konza Rotary Club, where she served as President in 2015-2016. She is a past Chair of the Board for the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce as well as past Chair of their Audit Committee, past Chair of the Chamber’s Leadership Manhattan program and just completed her term as Chair of the Business Advocacy Committee.. She is a charter/founding member of the Fairy Godmothers Fund Advisory Committee and currently serves on their Grants Committee through the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, where she is a Trustee. Williams is a member of the HUG Grant committee, which is a new initiative of the Fairy Godmothers Fund. She is a past Board Member of the KSU Research Foundation, Konza United Way, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, Manhattan Day Care, K-State’s Women’s Studies Program Advisory Council, and past Chair of the Meadowlark Hills Foundation.

She also just began her second term on the AIB International Board of Trustees, a global organization headquartered in Manhattan.

She was a member of the 2007 Leadership Manhattan class and the Flinthills Leadership Class of 2002. Also in 2002, she received the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation Volunteer of the Year award, and in 2007 and 2010 they recognized her as the Professional Advisor of the Year. She was the recipient of the 2016 Leadership Manhattan’s Lyle Butler Distinguished Leadership Award.

Williams earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from the Pennsylvania State University and received the designation of Certified Financial Planner in 1988.
