The Manhattan Chamber’s economic development for talent attraction and retention supports economic diversification and job growth while making Manhattan a more desirable place for a diverse population. The chamber is working on several key initiatives that will be shared during this presentation to assist area businesses in recruiting talent.

Amber Wilhelm is the Talent Strategies Coordinator at the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce. In this role, Amber is responsible for developing and implementing talent strategies that directly benefit the Greater Manhattan area and serves as the staff liaison for the Manhattan Area Young Professionals Program, Hype. Amber is a Kansas State University graduate, holding a degree in Hospitality Management with an emphasis in Convention, Meeting & Event Management with a minor in Business Management. While a student at Kansas State, she received the "Extraordinary Student Award." This award is given to a student who has been successful in their academic pursuits while facing opposition or significant obstacles. In 2022, Amber was awarded NextGen Under30 Kansas for her contributions in the Manhattan community as a young professional. Her educational background in human ecology and her time in Manhattan have made her passionate about supporting businesses, engaging and developing young professionals, and helping to make Manhattan a great place to work and live.
