Topic: Emergency Preparedness in the Workplace

Speaker: Trooper Ben Gardner, Kansas Highway Patrol


Trooper Ben Gardner hails from Michigan and brings over 25 years of experience with the Kansas Highway Patrol, serving as the Public Information Officer for North Central Kansas. 

1. Recognizing warning signs and potential threats: Participants will learn to identify behaviors and indicators that may precede a threat, enabling them to respond proactively and mitigate risk.

2. Implementing effective response strategies: Attendees will gain knowledge of practical steps to take during a threatening situation, including evacuation procedures, sheltering in place protocols, and communication strategies to enhance survival chances.

3. Providing first aid and post-event support: Participants will understand the importance of immediate medical assistance in the aftermath of an emergency incident, In addition, recognizing rally points and further difficulties after a critical event.
