Topic: Avoiding Common Wage and Hour Pitfalls

Staying Compliant with the FLSA – With wage and hour litigation on the uptick, and changes coming down the pike from the DOL, now is a good time for a refresher on FLSA exemptions, proper calculation of overtime pay, use of the tip credit, and other nuances of proper pay practices.

  • Learning Objectives:
    • Refresh on the common FLSA exemptions and how they apply.
    • Discuss use of the tip credit and proper calculation of the “regular rate” for overtime purposes.
    • Review DOL proposed regulations on white collar exemptions to be proactively address any concerns.
